Terms of Service

The service
SymptoRx connects you with licensed New York pharmacists who can answer questions about over-the-counter products, self-care and when to see a doctor. It is not an emergency service. If you think you have a medical emergency, call 911.
What a pharmacist consult is
- Pharmacists on SymptoRx give general guidance and may suggest over-the-counter products. They do not prescribe medication or diagnose conditions.
- Every pharmacist's license is checked against the NPI Registry and the New York State Education Department before they can take a consult.
- Guidance is based on what you tell the pharmacist. Give accurate, complete answers to the health screening questions.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for anything done under your account and for keeping your phone and email secure.
- You can sign in with Google, with your device's screen lock (Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint, Windows Hello or your device PIN; also called a passkey), with a one-time code sent to your email, or with a one-time code sent by text. Which of these are offered can change. Your face and fingerprint data never leave your device, and SymptoRx never receives them.
- Set up the screen lock sign-in only on a phone or computer that is your own: anyone who can unlock that device can open your account. Do not share a sign-in code with anyone. SymptoRx will never call, text or email you to ask for one.
- Keep more than one way to sign in where you can. If you lose every way in, we restore access only after confirming who you are, which includes calling the mobile number on your account.
- To keep your details private we sign you out after a period without activity. On a shared computer, sign out yourself when you finish, and sign out of Google too if you used it.
- Give us your real name and contact details so a pharmacist can reach you.
- You may ask about someone else, such as a child in your care, using your own account.
Acceptable use
Do not use SymptoRx to abuse or harass pharmacists, to request controlled substances, or to interfere with the service. We may close accounts that do.
Fees
SymptoRx is currently free for patients. If that changes we will tell you before any charge.
No guarantee
SymptoRx and its pharmacists work carefully, but the service is provided as is. We do not guarantee that a pharmacist will always be available or that guidance will resolve your problem. To the extent the law allows, SymptoRx is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
